trump Mobile’s Refurbished iPhones Priced Higher Then Competitors, Lack key Protections
WASHINGTON D.C. – Trump Mobile is offering refurbished iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones at prices that are often higher than those available from major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Samsung directly, and Back Market, raising questions about the value proposition of the fledgling mobile service. Despite positioning itself as a disruptor in the mobile market, a price comparison reveals Trump Mobile’s S23 is listed at $369 and the S24 at $459, exceeding Samsung’s own certified re-newed prices of $519 and $599 respectively. Even older models, like the S23, are considerably cheaper elsewhere – currently available for $249 on Amazon and Best Buy, and $290 at Back Market.
The discrepancy extends beyond price. Unlike Apple,Samsung, and Back Market,Trump Mobile does not currently advertise a warranty with its refurbished phones. The company also provides limited openness regarding the refurbishment process, failing to specify who performs the repairs or guarantee the use of official parts, despite claiming the phones are “brought to life right here in the USA.” Product pages also contain inaccuracies, such as advertising the prospect to be the “first to get your iPhone 14 Renewed” – a three-year-old model – and misrepresenting the payment structure as a partial deposit rather than the full purchase price. Trump Mobile did not respond to a request for comment.
