Prince William & Kate Speak Out on Epstein Files, Prince Andrew Scandal

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Prince William and Princess Kate have publicly addressed the ongoing fallout from the release of Jeffrey Epstein files, expressing “deep concern” over the revelations. The statement, issued via a Kensington Palace spokesperson on February 9th, came as further details emerged linking Prince Andrew, William’s uncle, to the convicted sex offender.

The royal couple’s response followed the release of additional documents by the U.S. Department of Justice, containing photographs of Prince Andrew and emails suggesting continued contact with Epstein more than two years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for sex crimes. One photograph depicts Andrew kneeling on all fours over an unidentified woman, sparking renewed scrutiny.

“I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” the spokesperson stated. “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.” The statement was released ahead of Prince William’s scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia, a diplomatic trip that aides are likely hoping will not be overshadowed by the scandal.

Prince Andrew, formerly known as Prince Andrew, Duke of York, was stripped of his royal title and removed from his home at Royal Lodge in October 2025, following years of controversy surrounding his association with Epstein. He was previously removed from senior royal duties in 2022, the same year he settled a lawsuit with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, an Epstein accuser who alleged sexual abuse. Giuffre died in 2025.

The latest disclosures have prompted calls for Prince Andrew to cooperate with U.S. Authorities. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated on January 31st that anyone with information should be “prepared to share that information in whatever form they are asked to do that.”

Prince Edward, the youngest brother of King Charles III, also addressed the situation earlier this month, speaking at the World Governments Summit in Dubai on February 3rd. Even as acknowledging the limited interest of the summit’s audience in the matter, he emphasized the importance of “always…to remember the victims and who are the victims in all this.”

The release of the Epstein files continues to generate political repercussions. King Charles was heckled during a public appearance on Monday, February 9th, with a member of the public questioning his knowledge of Prince Andrew’s relationship with Epstein.

Buckingham Palace has not issued a further statement beyond the Kensington Palace release and it remains unclear whether Prince Andrew will respond to calls for testimony from U.S. Lawmakers.
