Columbus, OH – A 37-year-old man died and another person was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning on the city’s East Side.
Rene Villanueva Soto was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. at a local hospital following the shooting, which occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Stelzer Road.
Columbus police responded to reports of gunfire and found two individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.Paramedics transported both victims to an area hospital. The second victim’s identity has not been released, but police stated their injuries are not life-threatening and they are expected to recover.
The Columbus Police Homicide Unit is investigating. As of sunday evening, no suspects have been identified, and no charges have been filed.
