Former NFL linebacker Bryan Braman, a Super Bowl 52 champion with the Philadelphia Eagles, has passed away at the age of 38.
Braman, who had a seven-year career in the National Football League from 2011 to 2017, played for both the Houston Texans and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a critically important contributor to the Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl victory, notably blocking a punt in the divisional round against the Atlanta Falcons and making a tackle in the Super Bowl game against the New England Patriots.
Earlier this year, Braman was reported to be undergoing treatment for a rare and life-threatening form of cancer, diagnosed in February.A GoFundMe campaign established to support his medical expenses garnered over $88,000, with a $10,000 contribution from former teammate J.J. Watt.
Tributes have poured in on social media from former colleagues and friends. J.J. Watt shared a message on X, stating, “Rest in Peace brother. Gone far too soon.” Braman’s agent, Sean Stellato, also posted a tribute on Instagram, sharing a photo of a signed Braman jersey and expressing his grief: “My heart hurts. I love you Bryan.”
Stellato informed ESPN that Braman is survived by his two daughters, aged 8 and 11.
