Apple Unveils iPhone 17 Air & Satellite-Connected Apple Watch Ultra 3
CUPERTINO, CA – Apple today debuted the iPhone 17 Air, touted as the company’s thinnest iPhone to date, alongside updates to its apple Watch lineup, including the new Apple Watch Ultra 3 featuring satellite connectivity for emergency communication. The launches signal Apple’s continued push into both premium smartphone design and enhanced safety features for its wearable technology.
The new iPhone 17 Air boasts a redesigned internal architecture allowing for a substantially slimmer profile without compromising screen size. Simultaneously, apple is bolstering the Apple Watch’s capabilities with the Ultra 3, directly competing with brands like Garmin by offering satellite connectivity to send emergency messages and location data in areas lacking cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. This feature is particularly aimed at adventurers and those frequently traveling in remote locations.
Apple has also refreshed its entry-level Apple Watch SE,now including an always-on display and gesture controls-features previously reserved for higher-end models. The SE also gains new health tracking capabilities, including fall and crash detection, wrist temperature measurement, sleep apnea notifications, and a new sleep score.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 incorporates Apple’s most powerful battery yet, promising up to 42 hours of autonomy. All three new models-the iPhone 17 Air, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3-are powered by Apple’s new S10 chip.
Pricing starts at €269 for the Apple Watch, €449 for the Apple Watch Series 11, and €899 for the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The iPhone 17 Air pricing has not yet been announced.
