Utica Man Charged with Murder: Wife Killed at Shelby Township Gas Station

Utica Man Charged ⁣with Murder in Gas Station Stabbing Death

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A ​25-year-old Utica man is facing a first-degree murder charge after allegedly stabbing his estranged wife to death Sunday at⁢ a gas station in shelby Township.The incident occurred during a ⁢child custody exchange, authorities said.

Sidney Emmanuel Davis Jr. was arraigned​ Wednesday in⁤ 41A District Court, according to Macomb County Prosecutor⁤ Peter J.Lucido.Davis is ⁢accused‌ of fatally stabbing Fatme Davis, ​23, ⁤at ​approximately 5 p.m. at a Meijer gas station located at 15031 Hall Road.

police say the couple’s child⁢ was ‍present in the mother’s car during the attack ‍and ‍is now ⁣with the paternal grandmother. Authorities allege davis repeatedly beat‌ and stabbed ‍Fatme Davis inside the gas station. First responders⁢ transported her to a ‍hospital, where she later died from her⁢ injuries.

“The allegations in this case are both shocking and ‍deeply ⁢disturbing,” ‌Lucido said in a press release. “A young mother was allegedly‌ killed⁣ at ​the hands of her estranged⁤ husband, while their child sat waiting in the car. Our office is committed to pursuing this case to the​ fullest extent of the law to⁣ ensure justice is served.”

Davis initially fled the scene but ‍was apprehended ​by Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies in Armada Township. He was treated for a severe cut to his hand at a hospital before being taken into custody.

Judge Christopher Alayan denied ⁤Davis bond and scheduled a probable cause conference for ‍1 p.m. on Oct. 7. If convicted, Davis faces life in prison ⁢without the possibility of parole.
