South Jakarta, Indonesia – Actor Gary Iskak died Sunday night after a motorcycle accident in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, authorities confirmed. Iskak, 49, was riding a Yamaha RX King when he struck a tree on Jalan Kesehatan Raya, according to police.
The accident occurred near the Rainbow Car Wash, with a witness, identified as Angga, stating Iskak was traveling from Tanah Kusir towards Bintaro and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Angga reported seeing blood coming from Iskak’s nose after he fell face down following the impact. Iskak was transported to Dr.Suyoto Hospital by local residents, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, investigators believe Iskak lost control of the motorcycle, leading to the collision with the tree and subsequent fall onto the roadway. “Initially, the Yamaha RX King NRKB B-6888-WDV motorbike was traveling from east to west… when it arrived in front of the Rainbow Car Wash, it hit a tree, resulting in a traffic accident which resulted in death and damage to the vehicle,” Hermanto stated.
The death of Iskak, known for roles in films like Virgin and Ayat-Ayat Cinta, has prompted an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues. Hermanto expressed condolences to Iskak’s family,stating,”May the deceased be accepted by His side and may the family left behind be given patience and strength.” An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
