WASHINGTON – TikTok will continue to operate within the United States, averting a potential ban after President Trump signed an executive order Thursday approving the transfer of its US operations to a group of American investors. The move follows what the President described as a “very good talk” with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump announced the agreement, stating that “great American investors” are poised to take control of TikTok, though he refrained from disclosing the full list of participants. He is scheduled to meet with President Xi next month during the APEC summit in South Korea.
