Minecraft Dungeons 2: Release Date & Xbox Details

Mojang Studios has announced the development of Minecraft Dungeons II, slated for release in fall 2026. The action role-playing game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, according to a press release from Xbox Game Studios.

The sequel will continue the storyline established in the original Minecraft Dungeons, which launched in May 2020. The announcement was made during Minecraft Live on March 20, 2026, with a teaser trailer revealing a new threat to the game’s world. “A hero’s work is never done! Disorder is brewing, and the world stands before a threat unlike any other,” reads a description on the game’s Steam page. “A new danger is growing in power, ready to descend upon the land and unleash mayhem.”

Minecraft Dungeons II promises “high-stakes encounters, thrilling challenges, and never-before-seen locations” as players work to save the world from a looming crisis. The original game, developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven, garnered over 25 million players before development concluded in 2023, according to Mojang.

Players can currently add Minecraft Dungeons II to their wishlists on Steam and the Microsoft Store. The original Minecraft Dungeons remains available for play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, offering players a chance to revisit the foundation of the dungeon-crawling spinoff series.
