Illinois Layoffs: Rising Pharma to Cut 86 Jobs + Social Security Update

Rising pharmaceuticals to Lay Off Nearly 100 Employees in Decatur, Illinois

Decatur, IL – ⁤nearly 100 employees at ‌Rising Pharmaceuticals’ Decatur facility will be laid off ‌beginning November 15,⁤ 2025, according to ⁢a notice ​filed with the Illinois Worknet center. The⁢ layoffs stem from “mass layoffs” at the manufacturing ⁢company, which develops and markets⁢ generic and specialty branded pharmaceutical ⁤products.

Rising Pharmaceuticals is located at 1222 W.⁢ Grand Ave.⁤ in Decatur. The announcement ⁤is ⁣part of a larger trend of workforce reductions across Illinois, with 10 businesses reporting plans⁤ for layoffs affecting approximately 1,000 workers in⁢ August alone.

The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires employers in Illinois to provide advance notice of plant closures and mass ⁢layoffs to the state. The⁤ Illinois ⁤Department of Commerce & Economic Possibility oversees WARN notices, and archived reports are available to the public⁢ online.
