iPhone 17 and 17 Pro: Price Disparity Tied to Battery Capacity,eSIM-Only Models
Warsaw,Poland – Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models will launch with a significant price difference – starting at PLN 3,999 and PLN 5,799 respectively – and that gap extends beyond features to battery capacity, according to new reports. The distinction is particularly notable as certain regions will receive iPhone 17 and 17 Pro units exclusively supporting eSIM technology, while European models retain a Nano SIM tray.
This shift impacts hardware design, with eSIM-only Pro models boasting larger batteries. The American iPhone 17 Pro is reported to have a 4252 mAh battery, compared to the 3998 mAh version expected in European models. The standard iPhone 17’s battery capacity is reported as 3692 mAh, though conflicting facts exists on this specification. Both models will maintain a maximum charging power of 25W via wired and wireless (MagSafe/Qi2) connections, indicating Apple isn’t prioritizing faster charging speeds.
Currently, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are available only with ESIM in regions like the USA, Canada, Japan, and Mexico. European consumers will still receive a tray for one physical Nano SIM card, with Dual SIM functionality achieved through a second eSIM.
