Mexico City – Alison Montano, recently crowned miss Teocaltiche 2025, died in a car accident on Friday (7/11/2025), just one week after her coronation.She was 21 years old.
Montano and her boyfriend, Jesús, were killed when the car they were traveling in collided with a truck. Emergency responders found both occupants deceased at the scene, according too local media reports.
Alison was selected as Miss Teocaltiche on October 30, delivering a speech emphasizing inner beauty. “Today I want to say that true beauty is not measured by a crown or a gown, but by the ability to look at other people with respect and love,” she said, as quoted by the Mirror.
A psychology and education student at the Centro Universitario de los Altos, part of the University of Guadalajara, Alison was described by colleagues as intelligent, disciplined, and empathetic. The university issued a statement of condolence, saying, “We express our sincere condolences to his family and friends. This loss is a deep wound for the entire campus community.”
Montano had over 5,000 followers on Instagram, where her last post, on thursday (6/11/2025), showed her smiling and wearing a black hat and brown top.
The Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the cause of the accident, with local police collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
