Rising pharmaceuticals to Lay Off Nearly 100 Employees in Decatur, Illinois
Decatur, IL – nearly 100 employees at Rising Pharmaceuticals’ Decatur facility will be laid off beginning November 15, 2025, according to a notice filed with the Illinois Worknet center. The layoffs stem from “mass layoffs” at the manufacturing company, which develops and markets generic and specialty branded pharmaceutical products.
Rising Pharmaceuticals is located at 1222 W. Grand Ave. in Decatur. The announcement is part of a larger trend of workforce reductions across Illinois, with 10 businesses reporting plans for layoffs affecting approximately 1,000 workers in August alone.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act requires employers in Illinois to provide advance notice of plant closures and mass layoffs to the state. The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Possibility oversees WARN notices, and archived reports are available to the public online.
HIG Capital owns Rising Pharmaceuticals. Affected workers are encouraged to utilize resources available through the Illinois Worknet Center for re-employment assistance.
