Garut, West Java – Nandi Juliawan, known professionally as Dado and famed for his role as Encuy in the popular television series Preman Pensiun (Pension Thugs), was found dead by suicide at his home in Karangpawitan, Garut, on Saturday night, September 7, 2024. The finding was confirmed by Head of Criminal Inquiry Unit of Garut Police, AKP Joko Prihatin.
The actor’s body was discovered by his wife upon her return from selling in Garut City. According to police, she found him hanging by a sarong near the stairs. Officers from the Karangpawitan Police Station and the Garut Police Criminal Investigation Unit’s Inafis Unit responded to the scene and confirmed his death.”Found on Saturday (7/9) last night,” Joko stated to detikjabar on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Authorities stated the family declined an autopsy. Nandi Juliawan, a well-known figure in the Garut arts community, gained widespread recognition for his comedic portrayal of Encuy in Preman Pensiun. Colleagues remember him as a supportive and humorous individual.
