Japanese Automaker Aims for Sustainable Mobility Future

Japanese auto manufacturer **Suzuki Motor Corporation** is increasing its investment in SkyDrive Inc., signaling a deeper commitment to the development of flying car technology and a future of advanced mobility solutions.

**Suzuki** has been collaborating with SkyDrive since March 2022, particularly focusing on expanding into foreign markets such as India. SkyDrive is known for its development of the SkyDrive SD-05, a cutting-edge flying car. The deepened partnership is intended to advance both business and technology, according to **Suzuki’s** official statement.

In a move highlighting the growing market for advanced air mobility, the global flying car market is projected to reach $1.5 trillion by 2040 (Morgan Stanley Research).

Production Underway

The production of the SD-05 flying car has already commenced in Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture. Sky Works Inc., a subsidiary of SkyDrive, is utilizing **Suzuki Group’s** facilities for manufacturing. The first rivet installation ceremony on March 6, 2025, marked a significant milestone, with **SkyDrive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa** and **President Toshihiro Suzuki** in attendance.

Public Debut and Initial Orders

The SkyDrive SD-05 made its first public flight on April 9, 2025, at the Media Day event for the Osaka 2025 Expo, capturing global attention. Furthermore, Jetsetgo, a major private jet operator in India, has placed an initial order of 50 flying cars to enhance future operations.

The SkyDrive SD-05 is expected to be utilized at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
