Winter Coat Drive: Donate to Keep Calhoun County Warm

Charitable Union Launches Winter Gear Drive to⁢ Support Calhoun County⁤ Families

Battle Creek, MI – Charitable Union ​is calling on the community to donate gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to‍ help local families stay warm this winter. Donation bins are now ‌available⁤ at numerous locations throughout Calhoun County, with the drive running through October 15.

This annual effort aims to provide essential ‌winter wear to those in need, culminating in the annual Coats for Kids event scheduled for the week of October 28. Families can begin⁤ scheduling⁢ appointments by calling 269-964-7234,⁤ Monday through Wednesday, from⁢ 8 a.m. to⁣ 5 ‌p.m. in october. following the event, coats will be ⁣available at Charitable union’s Free ⁢Store during regular buisness hours starting November 3. One coat per person per⁤ season is allotted.

Charitable Union’s Free Store provides ‍clothing and other necessities to individuals and families facing‍ hardship.Currently, the institution​ is especially ⁤in​ need​ of sizes boys 7, 8, ‌12,⁢ 18 ⁤and​ 20; girls 8, 10, 14,‌ 16 and 18; and⁢ all ‍sizes for ⁤men and women, from small to 3XL.

Donations can be dropped off​ Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to ​5 p.m. in the⁣ pink bins‍ located​ in the Charitable Union parking lot.

Financial ⁣contributions ⁣to support the project are also welcome and can be made online at‌ charitableunion.org/give/giving.html.

Charitable Union’s Free Store is open Monday through Wednesday⁤ from⁢ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.⁣ and the second Saturday of the month ​from 9 a.m. to⁤ noon. ⁣Those seeking⁢ assistance should bring a⁤ Bridge, ⁢WIC, or Medicaid card, ‍a‍ photo ID verifying Calhoun County residency, and ‌a Social Security⁢ card.
