Trump Discusses Pool Renovations Ahead Of Midterms
As the U.S. midterm elections loom on Tuesday, early polling indicates that Democrats will likely win back control of the U.S. House of Representatives and possibly even the Senate, dealing a severe blow to President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement. Moody’s Analytics economists report that this anticipated political shift follows a timeframe where living expenses for a typical American household have risen by approximately $2,000 since the conflict started, amounting to an aggregate impact of about $265 billion for U.S. shoppers.
Dissatisfaction with high inflation rates, coupled with Trump’s continued tariff war with Canada and the administration’s poor handling of the Iran war, has dropped Trump’s approval rating to 38 percent, per NBC News’s polling average. Ahead of the vote, Democrats are capitalizing on these figures, while Republicans tried to distance themselves from Trump’s Iran policies on Monday to focus instead on conservative talking points.
POTUS didn’t take questions from the press. ⁰But he did briefly respond to a shouted question from @GarrettHaake @NBCNews asking if he was considering striking Iran after the midterms. President Trump said “no.”
Trump Discusses Reflecting Pool Renovations
Instead of delivering a standard final argument for the campaign, President Donald Trump spent the bulk of his remarks at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool discussing topsoil, graffiti stains, piping, algae, limestone, and other construction elements of his capital renovation projects. Trump stated that the reflecting pool has struggled with leaks, and algae, and very severe problems having to do with weather, and heat, and cold,
and declared that the pool is now better and more beautiful than it’s ever been before.
Trump also repeated assertions that mysterious vandals were behind the muck in the pool, stating, We went through a lot with vandalism,
and The vandalism was unprecedented.
During the address, Trump touched on other topics, asserting that crime is down close to 90%,
a figure that went far beyond the 45 percent drop in homicides cheered by his own Justice Department in August.

Democrats Could Challenge Trump Foreign Policy Agenda
If Democrats succeed in taking back control of one or both chambers of Congress, they would have more power to challenge Trump’s foreign-policy agenda by blocking national security nominees, cutting off further military funding for the Iran war, investigating alleged corruption, and trying to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Trump has already vowed to veto everything
if Democrats take back Congress.
