Kyiv Under Attack: At Least 3 Dead, 600,000 Without Power

Kyiv, Ukraine ‍ – At least three people were killed and over 600,000 residents left without electricity following a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv Friday, November 29th. The assault, utilizing missiles and drones, targeted critical infrastructure, plunging important portions of the capital into darkness and disrupting essential services.

The attack comes as developments unfold regarding key political figures in Ukraine and ongoing diplomatic efforts. President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed his chief of staff, Andriï Yermak, on Friday, November 28th, after investigators from the anti-corruption agency searched‌ his home. Yermak was considered a close advisor and influential figure within Zelensky’s administration.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin‍ welcomed what he described as a “balanced” position from Hungary regarding the conflict in Ukraine during a meeting in the Kremlin with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Putin acknowledged Orban’s opposition⁢ to sanctions against Russia and criticism of support for Kyiv.

Negotiations surrounding a potential peace plan continue, with Ukrainian negotiators expected⁣ to travel to ⁣the United States this weekend for discussions with American ⁣officials. The talks were previously scheduled to include Andriï Yermak prior to his dismissal. An official close to the matter, speaking anonymously, indicated the discussions could take place in Florida.

American envoy Steve⁣ Witkoff is scheduled ⁣to visit Moscow next week to present the American plan to Russian⁢ officials.
