BREAKING: russia Claims Ukraine attempted to Hijack MiG-31 Fighter Jet Armed with Hypersonic Missile
Moscow – Russian intelligence service FSB alleges it thwarted a Ukrainian plot to hijack a MiG-31 fighter jet equipped with a Kinschal hypersonic missile.According to the FSB, the plan involved a Russian pilot being persuaded to defect with the aircraft, flying it to a NATO base in constanta, Romania, for a reported payment of three million US dollars.
The FSB claims the hijacked jet was intended to be shot down as it neared Constanta, blaming the Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR and British services for orchestrating the operation. The FSB alleges contact with the Russian pilot was made through the journalistic research network Bellingcat.
The FSB stated, “Their goal remains unchanged – to reach the northern borders of Pokrovsk and then try to encircle the metropolitan area.”
It is significant to note that the FSB frequently announces alleged successes in investigations and the uncovering of Ukrainian attack plans, which are often arduous to independently verify. These announcements are considered by many to be part of Russia’s psychological warfare strategy.
