Porsche Unleashes 711hp 911 Turbo S with Revolutionary ‘T-Hybrid‘ ‌System

MUNICH, Germany – Porsche has unveiled the next-generation 911 Turbo S, boasting a groundbreaking hybrid powertrain that elevates output to 711 horsepower. ⁢The 2026 model, ‌revealed ahead of it’s public debut at the ⁣IAA ⁢Mobility motor show in Munich, integrates Porsche’s ‍new ‘T-Hybrid’ system‍ – featuring an electric turbocharger - to deliver increased performance and responsiveness.

The core of the T-Hybrid system is a special turbocharger‍ incorporating an electric motor positioned between the ⁣turbine and ⁣compressor wheels. This configuration⁢ aims ⁢to eliminate turbo lag and ⁢provide precise boost pressure⁣ control,⁤ autonomous of exhaust flow. The system also includes a 400-volt electrical system, a small lithium-ion battery, and an electric motor integrated into⁣ the eight-speed PDK gearbox. The Turbo S receives two eTurbos, differentiating⁤ it from the 911 GTS which utilizes one.

To manage the increased⁢ power, the 911 Turbo ⁤S features wider rear tires (325/30 ZR 21) compared to the front⁤ (255/35 ZR 20), larger rear brake discs, ‍and a new design of brake pad for the standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system. The vehicle also ⁢utilizes an electro-hydraulically controlled Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (ehPDCC) powered ⁣by the 400-volt system, intended to enhance stability, drivability, and comfort. An optional ⁤nose-lift feature is available.

Aerodynamic enhancements include ⁢active aerodynamics, active cooling with vertical vanes in ⁤the nose (shared with ⁣the GTS), an active front diffuser, ⁤a variable front spoiler, and an extendable⁢ and tilting rear wing. ‌The Turbo S also benefits from a wider body and track, incorporating air intakes ahead of the front‍ wheels, a new‌ lower rear bumper design with‌ vents, and a unique exhaust outlet. A partially titanium sports ‍exhaust is standard, with customizable outlet and finisher options. ⁢ Exterior detailing ⁣includes ‘Turbonite’ gray accents.

Inside, the turbo S features Turbonite color detailing and ‘Turbo S’⁣ branding on the embossed‍ headrests of the⁣ Adaptive 18-way Sports Seats Plus. New ‘carbon-structured’ trim strips and a ⁤microfibre headliner are also included. The‌ coupe version is a two-seater, though a no-cost ‘2+2’ option is available at the time‌ of ordering; the Cabriolet model always accommodates four passengers.

Irish pricing for the ⁤new 911 Turbo S will be announced following the car’s public debut in Munich.
