Sia Furler has once again been confirmed as Australia’s leading musical export on Spotify, marking a historic achievement for the Adelaide-born singer-songwriter. This week, she became the first artist to twice top the streaming platform’s Global Impact List of Australian recording artists, according to data released this week.
The latest ranking is driven by the success of “Attractive People,” her collaboration with David Guetta, a track that resonates strongly with international audiences. Spotify’s Global Impact List specifically measures the performance of Australian artists in markets outside of Australia, providing a snapshot of their global reach.
This isn’t the first time Sia has claimed the top spot. She previously led the list in 2023 with her single “Gimme Love,” solidifying her consistent appeal to listeners worldwide. According to Spotify, the United States remains the top export market for Australian artists, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany.
Alongside Sia, other Australian artists are also making significant inroads on the global stage. Kevin Parker’s project, Tame Impala, secured a strong position in the top 50, with seven tracks from their fifth studio album, Deadbeat, charting internationally. Four of those songs landed in the top 15, including “Dracula” at No. 2 and “Loser” at No. 8.
The Kid LAROI, now based in Los Angeles, also demonstrated considerable international appeal, matching Tame Impala with seven tracks on the list. His collaborations, including “I know love” with Tate McRae (at No. 3) and “A COLD PLAY” (at No. 9), contributed to his strong showing.
Rounding out the top tier of Australian musical exports are Dom Dolla, Dean Lewis, Rüfüs Du Sol, Royel Otis, and Lithe, all demonstrating growing international recognition.
“It’s impossible not to sense the impact of Australian music wherever you go, whether that’s in the U.S., Europe, or emerging markets where local artists are finding passionate new fans,” said Leah Harris, Spotify AUNZ head of artist & label partnerships. “The data behind Spotify’s Australian Music Global Impact List shows just how borderless music has develop into,” she added, “and how artists from Australia are connecting with listeners around the world in deeper and more meaningful ways than ever before.”
Spotify reported strong subscriber growth in the fourth quarter of 2025, exceeding forecasts with 290 million premium subscribers – a 10% year-on-year increase. Monthly Active Users (MAUs) also rose by 11% to 751 million. The streaming giant also noted that Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines, and France are among the top 10 export markets for Australian music, with South Africa, the Philippines, and Colombia experiencing the fastest growth in the past three years.
