Paige bueckers Named 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year
ARLINGTON, TX – Dallas Wings guard Paige bueckers has been named the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year, the league announced Monday. Bueckers becomes the second player in Wings franchise history to earn the honor, following Allisha Grey in 2017.
bueckers enjoyed a standout inaugural season, averaging 17.8 points,5.3 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game. Her assist average ranks seventh all-time among WNBA rookies. despite a heartbreaking 81-80 loss on August 20 against the Los Angeles Sparks, Bueckers set a new rookie single-game scoring record with 44 points in that contest.
The award was presented to Bueckers as a surprise during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” She follows a recent lineage of impressive rookie of the Year recipients, including Caitlin clark (2024, Indiana Fever), Aliyah Boston (2023, Indiana Fever), and Rhyne Howard (2022, Atlanta Dream).
