New York Bills Aim to Support Women During Menopause


New York Lawmaker Proposes Bills to Support Women Through Perimenopause and Menopause

A state lawmaker in Manhattan has put forth a series of bills designed to address the challenges women encounter during perimenopause and menopause. This significant biological transition, marked by the cessation of menstruation and hormonal fluctuations, can profoundly impact a woman’s well-being.

The experience of menopause is frequently enough accompanied by a range of difficulties, affecting women emotionally, physically, and psychologically. State Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, a proponent of the state’s menstrual equity laws, has introduced three bills to bridge existing gaps in both healthcare access and workplace protections for women navigating this life stage.
