Macron Declares Israel Cannot Halt Palestinian State Recognition Efforts
Jakarta, indonesia – French President Emmanuel macron has firmly stated that Israel cannot impede teh growing international momentum towards recognizing a Palestinian state, even amidst ongoing attacks in Gaza or potential further annexation of Palestinian territories.
france is among a number of nations planning to formally recognize a Palestinian state during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in New York. Belgium recently joined this movement, becoming the latest Western country to signal its intention to take similar action.
“There are no attacks, annexation efforts, or forced transfer of residents who will thwart the momentum that we have created with the crown prince [of Saudi Arabia] – the momentum that has been followed by manny partners,” Macron declared on social media platform X, following a conversation with Saudi Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.
According to reports from Al Arabiya on Wednesday, Macron affirmed his commitment to co-leading a conference focused on a two-state solution in New York on September 22nd, alongside Prince Mohammed.
“Our goal is clear: to raise international support as widely as possible for a two-state solution – the only way to fulfill the legitimate aspirations of both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples,” Macron stated.
The French leader outlined a pathway towards achieving this goal, emphasizing the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the delivery of ample humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and stabilization efforts within the region.
Macron also highlighted the necessity of dismantling Hamas’s control over the Gaza government, reforming and strengthening the Palestinian Authority, and fully rebuilding the Gaza Strip.
