ICE Seeking Large‌ office Spaces in Oklahoma City, Multiple Other States

OKLAHOMA CITY -‌ Sept. 27, 2025 – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is seeking to lease ⁣ample office space in Oklahoma City and⁤ a dozen other major U.S.⁣ cities, according to⁤ a federal contract listing posted Sept. 11 ⁤by the General services Administration (GSA). The search encompasses “as-is, fully-finished and furnished office space”⁤ in⁤ Alabama, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Iowa,⁤ florida,⁢ Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Washington,‌ Wisconsin and Virginia, in addition to Oklahoma.

The⁤ government requires approximately 70 workstations and desks, a dedicated server room, ‌and a high level of security at the‍ leased locations. The proposed lease term is⁢ 10 years. ‍The listing explicitly states the government will not consider spaces shared wiht ‍tenants “whose primary clientele‍ or operations could present security,⁤ operational or ⁢reputational conflicts with law enforcement functions.”

The search for new office space comes as ICE has considerably increased its activity and funding under the current administration. A Sept.18 article in The Washington Post reported officials stating ICE ‍needed support for 10,000 new employees nationwide.

While GSA has not directly confirmed the office space proposals are⁢ specifically for ICE, a spokesman stated the agency would⁤ investigate the inquiry from The Oklahoman. In a statement⁢ shared with both The Oklahoman and KOCO 5 News, GSA affirmed its commitment ⁣to ‌supporting federal agencies’ workspace needs.

“GSA remains focused on supporting ⁤this administration’s goal of optimizing the federal footprint and providing the best workplaces for our federal‍ agencies to meet their mission,” the statement read.
