Evvaoil: A century of Austrian ⁢Lubricant Production Under Family Leadership

Evvaoil, a family-owned buisness based in Margarethen, Lower Austria, is navigating the competitive lubricant market – ⁤standing as the sole remaining purely Austrian manufacturer with a complete⁤ product range against ⁢global giants like Shell,⁢ Mobil, and Castrol. For over 100 years,⁤ the company has focused on producing high-quality lubricants, oils, and fats,⁣ serving a diverse range of industries both domestically and internationally.

Luca Primavesi, the ‍current generation leading Evvaoil, ⁢brings a global outlook to the company. Having studied economics in Vienna,London, and New York, and having travelled to over 70 countries to visit refineries and meet suppliers,he emphasizes the importance of ⁤international exchange for evvaoil’s success. ⁣He joined the management team in 2019, working alongside his‍ father, Paul Primavesi, who is gradually stepping back‍ from day-to-day operations.

“it⁢ is not a burden, but a great responsibility,” Luca Primavesi states, acknowledging the weight of continuing a century-old family legacy. He recognizes the challenges of recent economic conditions, noting, “It is indeed easier in quiet times, but we‍ have experienced three years of recession in a row – special efforts and entrepreneurial resilience are ‌required to achieve growth.”

Founded in 1919, Evvaoil currently produces approximately 20‌ million ‍liters of premium lubricants annually at its Margarethen facility.⁤ These products range from⁢ motor oils for the automotive industry to hydraulic oils for industrial applications, and include customized specialty lubricants. The company employs around 50 people directly, supplemented by a network ⁢of logistics partners.

Evvaoil’s customer base spans a wide spectrum, including the automotive industry, metal processing, heavy industry, agriculture, forestry, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). A meaningful portion of the company’s production is exported, and the public sector is also a key client.
