Chinese Automaker Jinxiu Shanhe to Establish EV Assembly in Morocco
RABAT, MOROCCO – Shanghai jinxiu shanhe automotive Technology has secured a contract to export electric commercial vehicles to Morocco, wiht plans to establish a local assembly plant as part of a larger agreement to deliver 20,000 units. The initial shipment marks the first phase of the deal, signaling a meaningful expansion of Chinese automotive manufacturing into North Africa.
The move underscores Morocco’s growing prominence as a key automotive hub and reflects the increasing global competitiveness of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers. Jinxiu Shanhe’s decision to assemble vehicles locally will contribute to Morocco’s established automotive ecosystem – already home to major players like Stellantis and Renault – and further attract investment in related industries, including battery materials. “This order shows the strong global competitiveness of our products and their fit with international market demand,” said Chen Kuo, president of Jinxiu Shanhe Automotive Technology.
The vehicles are specifically designed to meet Morocco’s needs for urban mobility and short-distance logistics, according to Kuo, paving the way for broader distribution throughout the North African region. Morocco has recently become a destination for Chinese auto component and battery material manufacturers, including Gotion High Tech, Guangzhou Tinci Materials technology, CNGR Advanced material Company, and BTR New Material Group. the Jinxiu Shanhe project leverages Morocco’s existing infrastructure and skilled workforce,positioning the contry as a strategic base for exporting electric vehicles to European and african markets.
