Apple March 2026: iPhone 17e, M4/M5 iPads & MacBooks, AirPods Max 2 & More

March 21, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Apple launched a wave of new products this month, releasing nine new devices and accessories throughout March, including a lower-cost iPhone and updated iPad Air. The company began shipping the first seven products on Wednesday, March 11, with the Nike Powerbeats Pro 2 following on Friday, March 20.

The iPhone 17e, priced at $599 in the U.S., builds upon the iPhone 16e’s design but incorporates Apple’s A19 chip, MagSafe technology for wireless charging and accessories, and a second-generation C1X modem for improved 5G connectivity. Base storage has been doubled to 256GB.

Apple’s updated iPad Air features the M4 chip, a significant upgrade from previous models, along with 12GB of RAM and the N1 chip supporting Wi-Fi 7. Cellular models also benefit from the inclusion of the C1X modem.

The MacBook Air has been updated with a faster M5 chip and doubles its base storage to 512GB. However, this upgrade comes with a price increase, moving the starting price from $999 to $1,099 due to the removal of the 256GB configuration. The N1 chip also brings Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support, alongside a 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max capability.

Higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models now feature M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, offering increased performance and up to twice the SSD speeds. Base storage has also been doubled to 1TB, and battery life has seen a slight improvement. The N1 chip extends to the MacBook Pro line, adding Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 support.

The Studio Display has been enhanced with Thunderbolt 5 support and improved speakers, whereas the camera now supports Desk View. A new, higher-end Studio Display XDR has also been introduced, boasting all the improvements of the standard Studio Display, plus a 120Hz refresh rate, mini-LED backlighting, and increased brightness.

Apple also unveiled the MacBook Neo, a more affordable option starting at $599 (and $499 for college students). Available in Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver, the MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro chip and features a 13-inch display, up to 512GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM.

The AirPods Max 2 include upgrades such as Apple’s H2 chip, increased active noise cancellation, improved sound quality, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Live Translation. The Digital Crown now features a Camera Remote function. Pre-orders for the AirPods Max 2 begin on Wednesday, March 25.

A special edition of the Nike Powerbeats Pro 2 features a two-tone design in black and Nike’s signature Volt neon green-yellow, incorporating both Nike and Beats logos.

Apple has also released new color options for a variety of accessories, including iPhone cases, Apple Watch bands, and the Crossbody Strap.
