Airbnb is offering $750 to new hosts in cities across North America set to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the company announced Wednesday. The incentive aims to bolster lodging options for the expected influx of travelers during the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The offer applies to new hosts who list entire homes in qualifying zip codes within the 16 host cities, including Boston and Providence, Rhode Island, according to Airbnb. Dave Stephenson, Chief Business Officer at Airbnb, stated the company is seeing “surging” demand for World Cup stays. “There’s truly never been a better time to become a host on Airbnb,” Stephenson said in a press release.
To qualify for the $750 reward, a host’s first guest must check out on or before July 31, 2026. The payment will be issued in addition to earnings from the rental.
