Emmanoel Schmidt Rondon: New Post Office President

Economist Emmanoel Schmidt Rondon Named President ‌of⁣ Brazil‘s Post Office

Brasília – Emmanoel ⁤Schmidt ⁢Rondon has been appointed the new president of Brazil’s Post Office (Correios), approved by ​the company’s Board ​of Directors on Friday, July 19th. He is expected too assume the role on Monday, July‍ 22nd, succeeding ​Fabiano⁢ Silva dos Santos,‍ who resigned earlier in july adn concluded his tenure on Thursday, July 18th.

Schmidt ⁤Rondon takes leadership⁣ of the Post Office during a‍ period of⁤ significant financial challenge. The company reported the largest ‌deficit among Brazilian‍ state-owned⁣ enterprises ‌in 2024 and​ incurred a billion-real loss in the first half of‍ the year.

Rondon⁢ brings 25 years ‍of experiance in the⁢ financial market to the position.​ He holds a degree in Economics from‍ the Fluminense‌ Federal⁤ University ⁤(UFF) and ⁣completed business administration training at ⁤the Brazilian Capital Market Institute (IBMEC).

Prior to this appointment, schmidt Rondon ​served‌ as Executive⁤ Manager‍ at the Banco do Brasil Infrastructure, Supply⁣ and Heritage Directorate, and is a long-term employee of Banco do‍ Brasil. He also previously acted as an advisor to previ,⁤ the Banco‌ do Brasil employees’ Welfare Fund.

His nomination ⁢was supported by the Civil ‌house, the ministry ​headed by Rui Costa, who advocated for Schmidt Rondon​ as ⁣a ​skilled technician⁤ capable of implementing necessary ⁤adjustments within the institution.
