Packers‘ Jayden reed Undergoes Accomplished Foot and Clavicle Surgery
GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed successfully underwent surgery to repair fractures in his foot and clavicle on Monday,September 16,2025,the player announced on X (formerly Twitter).the surgeries address injuries sustained in recent weeks, sidelining the promising second-year receiver for a notable portion of the season.
Reed sustained a broken collarbone during the Packers’ Week 2 victory over the Washington Commanders on September 11, after a touchdown catch was nullified by a holding penalty. He also underwent a procedure to repair a toe fracture that initially occurred during training camp, where he was seen wearing a walking boot before returning for the season opener against the Detroit Lions on September 7.
The collarbone fracture typically requires a recovery period of 6-8 weeks. Reed’s decision to address the toe injury concurrently suggests the team aimed to resolve a potential long-term issue. In the season opener, Reed recorded three receptions for 45 yards.
With Reed and fellow receiver Christian Watson (recovering from an ACL injury, possibly returning around Week 6) unavailable, the Packers will lean on Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and first-round draft pick Matthew Golden. Malik Heath and rookie Savion Williams are also expected to see increased playing time. Quarterback Jordan Love is also anticipated to utilize tight end Tucker Kraft frequently, following Kraft’s breakout performance of six catches for 124 yards against Washington.
