China Displays Advanced Military technology in Beijing Parade
BEIJING - China showcased a range of new weaponry, including uncrewed drones and advanced missile systems, during a recent military parade in Beijing, signaling a important leap in its military capabilities and technological advancement.
Analysts say the display was intended to demonstrate both china’s technological prowess and the extent of its military arsenal. “It demonstrates an advanced capability,” said defence analyst ms. Parker. “It’s about showing a technologically advanced military and this second message of ‘by the way, you don’t necessarily know what we have.'”
The parade highlighted advancements in information and electronic warfare, areas where the peopel’s Liberation Army (PLA) is expected to gain a significant advantage, according to UNSW China expert Guangyi Pan. “Undoubtedly, the greatest enhancement is in information warfare and electronic warfare,” Pan told the ABC. He further noted the rapid advancement of these weapons demonstrates “China’s leading position in both technological advancement (quality) and industrial manufacturing scale (quantity).”
Edward Chan, from the Australian National University’s College of Asia & the Pacific, stated the broad spectrum of new assets - including satellites, missile systems, and drones – reflects a decade of military modernization.
“They reflect greater preparedness for potential conflicts in the Western Pacific,” Dr.Chan said.
