ANN ARBOR,MI – Zach bryan delivered a history-making performance Saturday night, drawing a crowd of 112,408 to Michigan Stadium, setting a new U.S.record for the largest ticketed concert attendance. The show surpassed George Strait’s previous record of 110,905 set in Texas last year, and eclipsed a mark held by the Grateful Dead since 1977.
The concert, the first of its kind in the 98-year history of the iconic “Big House,” signifies a major moment for both Bryan’s career and the venue itself, opening the door for future large-scale musical events at the university of Michigan’s football stadium. AEG Presents, the show’s promoter, announced the attendance figure Sunday afternoon, also noting that the concert generated approximately $5 million in merchandise sales – a figure they claim is also a U.S. record.
Bryan’s two-hour set was supported by performances from John Mayer, Ryan Bingham and the Texas Gentlemen, and Joshua slone. University of Michigan officials expressed hope that Bryan’s successful concert will pave the way for more musical events at Michigan Stadium in the future.
