China’s Xixia Tombs Join UNESCO World Heritage List

UNESCO Honors Xixia Imperial Tombs

During the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris, France, China’s Xixia Imperial Tombs were officially added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. This inscription brings the total number of World Heritage sites in China to 60, underscoring the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

Cloned Yak Born in Xizang

In Damxung County, southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, researchers celebrated the birth of a cloned yak via caesarean section. The calf weighed 33.5 kg at birth, heavier than most yak newborns. The project, which began in July 2023, is a joint initiative by a research team from Zhejiang University, the Damxung County government, and the Institute of Plateau Biology of Xizang Autonomous Region. The scientists used whole-genome selection and somatic cell cloning technologies to produce the cloned yak.

Yujiang’s Evolution in Eyewear Technology
