Microsoft has raised the prices of its Xbox Series S and Series X consoles in the United States, effective October 3.
This marks the second price adjustment for the consoles this year, driven by import tariffs, inflation, and increased supply chain costs.
The new official prices are as follows:
Xbox Series S (512 GB): $399.99 (previously $379.99)
xbox Series S (1 TB): $449.99
Xbox Series X (digital Edition): $599.99 (previously $549.99)
Xbox Series X (with disc drive): $649.99 (previously $599.99)
Xbox Series X “Galaxy Black Special Edition” (2 TB): $799.99 (previously approximately $599.99)
The “Galaxy Black Special edition” now represents the highest price point for any console in the current Xbox generation, an increase of around $200 compared to its price a year ago.
Currently, the price increases apply only to consoles, excluding accessories and video games. The impact on consumers will be most noticeable during the upcoming holiday shopping season.
Microsoft’s pricing strategy, while responding to economic pressures, may test consumer loyalty as players seek value for thier money amid intensifying competition in the console market.
industry analysts suggest that Sony may also consider similar price adjustments in the United States as tariffs and inflation continue to be factors. further updates will be provided as they become available.
