Rio de Janeiro Hosts Landmark Veterinary Medicine Congress
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Rio de Janeiro is currently teh global focal point for small animal veterinary medicine as the Wsava 2025 Congress commenced today, marking the institution’s 50th anniversary. The three-day event, running from September 25 to 27, brings together veterinary professionals, leading experts, adn companies from around the world.
This year’s congress represents a significant milestone for the veterinary profession in Brazil, as it marks the Wsava’s return to the country after a 16-year absence. The event is jointly organized by the World Veterinary Association of Small Animals (WSAVA), the National Association of Veterinary Clinicians of small animals in Brazil (Anclivepa-Brasil), and the Ibero -American Federation of Veterinary Animal Associations (FIAVAC).
The congress features Master Conferences, Practical Workshops, networking Sessions, and Cultural Activities, designed to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration. According to André Lacerda de Abreu, president of Anclivepa Brazil, in his Welcome message, “We are organizing, for the first time concurrently, the Wsava World Congress, the Brazilian Congress of Aclivepa (CBA) and the Fiavac Congress. The Wsava World Congress is much more than a congress. It is indeed a unique possibility for our veterinary community to meet to learn, share ideas and forge relationships and friendships with colleagues from all over the world.”
