Singer Fede dorcaz Murdered Days After Filming Assault
Mexican authorities are investigating the murder of Argentine singer and actor Fede Dorcaz, 29, who was shot while driving on the Periférico in Mexico City. The killing occurred shortly after Dorcaz had been with his girlfriend, influencer Mariana Ávila, with whom he had been in a relationship for over a year.
A potential lead in the case centers around an incident days prior to the shooting, where Dorcaz recorded and briefly shared video of an assault in the Polanco neighborhood. Though the video was quickly removed from his social media accounts on the advice of his publicist, Otto Rojas, investigators are exploring whether the recording contributed to the singer’s death.
“He actually recorded an assault a few days before a robbery and he had the video and he spread it but he took it down a few minutes later on his social networks,” a source told the program “Siéntese qué puede.”
Ávila is appealing for justice, stating Dorcaz consistently refused opportunities to “promote her career quickly,” preferring integrity over fame. “In this world of perversion my Fede ALWAYS received proposals to ‘promote her career quickly’, she never accepted in her life…she always told me that she preferred not to have money to eat than to sell her image,” Ávila wrote on X.
Dorcaz had recently been cast in a dance project on the morning program ”Hoy,” where he was to partner with Ávila. He moved to Mexico seeking to advance his singing career after establishing himself as an international model in Argentina. His body was identified by Rojas and a friend. Ávila became aware of the tragedy after being unable to reach Dorcaz for over two hours, eventually receiving news from police after calling his phone.
