Direct Olympic Qualification Breakdown
Specific qualification spots are assigned to each stop on the calendar. The men’s 50-metre backstroke and women’s 50-metre butterfly qualifiers will be decided during the opening leg in Berlin. Paris will determine the qualifiers for the men’s 50-metre butterfly and women’s 50-metre breaststroke.
The final qualification places will be awarded at London’s Aquatics Centre. At that venue, the men’s 50-metre breaststroke and women’s 50-metre backstroke events will serve directly as Olympic qualifiers.

Each city has an outstanding sporting pedigree and Olympic heritage and therefore offers a fitting stage to determine the qualifiers for 50m events newly-introduced onto the Olympic programme for LA28,
World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam said, according to Reuters.
