BRASILIA ‌- Brazil has voiced significant⁤ concern regarding the‍ escalating US military presence in the Caribbean sea, near the coast ⁢of Venezuela.President Luiz Inácio⁤ Lula ‌da Silva urged a swift resolution ⁤to the rising tensions, stating the need to find a solution “before ⁣the conflict begins.”

The ⁢Pentagon has reportedly deployed ample naval assets, including large⁢ warships and aircraft carriers, to the region. This deployment occurs amidst controversial US actions against vessels allegedly linked to a⁤ Venezuelan-led drug trafficking​ operation. Caracas vehemently denies these ⁤accusations.

“I am very concerned​ about the military⁣ deployment that the​ United States has placed⁤ in the Caribbean Sea,” ​president Lula ‍told reporters during the G20 Summit in South Africa on Sunday, November 23,⁢ 2025, as reported by Globo News.

According to Reuters, citing ‌unnamed US officials, Washington is​ preparing to initiate operations against Venezuela​ in the coming days. Sources indicate a potential covert operation to begin the effort, with the possibility of ‍considering the overthrow ​of President‌ Nicolás Maduro.
