A Cardiff mother, Amanda “Mandy” Cugini, 46, died suddenly on February 16, 2024, just days after returning from a holiday in Tunisia. Her husband, David Cugini, attempted CPR but was unable to revive her. The cause of death remains unknown as of February 21, 2024.

David Cugini described his wife of 18 years as a vibrant and loving presence, stating, “She was one of a million… She was an amazing mom and grandmother. She lit up every room she entered.” The couple had been together for a total of 28 years, having known each other since their teens.
Mandy Cugini was employed at a local nursery and was concurrently pursuing further education to become a qualified nurse. Despite facing significant family hardships – including the loss of both her parents and navigating the COVID-19 pandemic alongside financial difficulties – she consistently prioritized helping others, according to her husband.
She is survived by her husband, David, and three daughters: aged 17, 10, and a 34-year-old stepdaughter. Mandy was also a grandmother to two children. “It’s very, very tough. Mom’s children are missing,” David Cugini shared.
