Trump’s Comments on Faith adn pardons Fuel Health Speculation
Donald Trump has recently sparked renewed concerns about his health following comments regarding faith and potential pardons, leading to widespread speculation online. The former president stated he is considering looking into pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, an admission reported by multiple news outlets. This follows Trump raising health worries with a recent, unusual text message interview on CNN.
Concurrently, reports from The Mirror US indicate that Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested a pardon from Trump following his recent four-year sentence.
During a recent interview, Trump discussed the importance of faith, stating, “We’re dealing – as you know – with all of the different - and not just evangelicals, Christians…We’re dealing with lots of different faiths, religions. And I felt for a long time that if a country doesn’t have religion, doesn’t have faith, doesn’t have God, it’s gonna be very hard to be a good country.” He continued, “You know, there’s no reason to be good. I want to be good because you want to prove to God so you go to that next step, right? So that’s very importent to me.” (as reported by the Irish Star).
These comments immediately prompted health concerns on social media, with users suggesting his reference to the “next step” indicates a preoccupation with mortality. One user commented, “In our house, when an older person who has not previously been religious starts talking this way…we call it ‘cramming for the final exam.'” others speculated, ”I think he knows he’s exiting stage right soon,” and “He knows he’s dying and thinks he can makeup for a life of evil by mentioning God a few times.”
Critics were quick to dismiss the possibility of Trump’s acceptance into heaven, with comments ranging from “Whatever is under hell dude that’s your next step” to “If you get to heaven, and you find Trump there, you have gone to hell, that’s not heaven.”
This follows similar speculation from August, when Trump admitted he was “not doing well” regarding his prospects of entering heaven. During a Fox and Friends interview, he expressed hope that brokering peace between Ukraine and Russia might improve his chances, stating, “I want to try to get to heaven if possible, I’m hearing that I’m not doing well…I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
