Travis Culhane Joins Los Angeles Kings as Video Coordinator

LOS ⁢ANGELES – ⁢Travis Culhane, former Director of Hockey Operations for the University of Denver, has been named assistant video coordinator ​for ⁤the Los Angeles Kings, the NHL franchise announced today. The move‌ marks Culhane’s transition to the professional ranks after a triumphant collegiate career.

Culhane, 29, spent the last⁤ four seasons ⁤(2020-2024) at Denver, contributing to​ a⁣ period ‌of sustained success for the ​Pioneers. During ​his tenure, Denver⁤ achieved a 124-40-5⁣ overall record, made three Frozen Four appearances (2022, 2024, 2025), and secured two NCAA ​National Championships (2022, ⁢2024). He was also ​part of two Penrose Cup-winning seasons as NCHC regular-season champions (2021-22, 2022-23), the 2024 NCHC ⁣Frozen Faceoff Championship, and four Gold ⁢Pan trophy wins ‌against Colorado ‌College.

“Myself and everyone at Denver ​hockey are thrilled for⁢ Travis, his wife Michelle and their growing⁢ family on this prospect with the ‌los Angeles‍ Kings,” said Denver Head ⁢Coach David carle. “Travis​ was a vital member of our program for the last four years‍ and has been‌ part of one of the greatest eras in Pioneer history with​ 30 wins each season, ⁤three frozen Four ​appearances⁢ and two national championships. We look forward ⁣to watching him continue ⁤to further his career⁣ in the ​national Hockey league in ⁤the years to come.”

Prior to Denver,‍ Culhane served as‌ the Director of ⁤Hockey ‍Operations at Colorado College (2019-2021) and as a ‍student assistant and ⁤later director of hockey⁣ operations at Western Michigan (2015-2019). He graduated from Western Michigan ⁢in 2017 ‌with ⁤a‍ bachelor’s⁣ degree in human resource ⁤management.

Culhane’s international experience includes roles as ⁢the United States video coach at⁢ the 2024 and⁢ 2025 IIHF‍ world Junior Championships, ⁣both under Coach David Carle,​ where the Americans won ⁤gold⁢ medals‍ in consecutive years -‌ a first for USA Hockey‌ at the under-20 level.
