Formosa Province Intensifies Measles Prevention with Door-to-Door Vaccination Campaign
FORMOSA,ARGENTINA - Vaccination teams from Health Centers and Hospitals across the province of Formosa are actively conducting house-to-house visits to verify and complete the triple Viral vaccination schedule for children aged one to 11 years old. The campaign aims to protect against measles, rubella, and mumps, particularly given the regional epidemiological context.
The triple Viral vaccine is administered in two doses – the first at 12 months of age and the second upon school entry, between four and five years old. Julio Arroyo, head of the Immunization Department of the Ministry of Human Advancement, emphasized the urgency of the effort due to measles virus circulation in neighboring countries like Paraguay and Bolivia, and detected cases in other Argentine provinces.
“We are steadily intensifying preventive actions to avoid the reintroduction of this disease to the provincial territory and prevent possible outbreaks,” Arroyo stated.Vaccinators are equipped with properly preserved vaccines to administer missing doses instantly upon identifying incomplete vaccination records.
authorities are urging parents, guardians, and caregivers to facilitate access to vaccination cards during home visits and authorize vaccine administration when needed. They also recommend reviewing School Health Booklets to ensure both doses of the Triple Viral vaccine are recorded as complete, and to seek vaccination at the nearest health center, hospital,or vaccination center if any doses are missing.
