Trump Backs Israel’s Right to Respond to Attacks in Gaza as Palestinian Death Toll Climbs to 104
GAZA CITY – Former U.S. President Donald Trump has affirmed his support for Israel’s response to recent attacks originating from Gaza, even as the Palestinian death toll reached 104, including 46 children and 20 women, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.The escalating violence has sparked international concern and raised questions about the future of a ceasefire previously signaled to remain in effect.
The renewed conflict centers on Israeli military operations targeting areas within Gaza, including strikes in densely populated refugee camps and neighborhoods. While Israel maintains it is responding to attacks and targeting militant infrastructure, the rising civilian casualties are fueling condemnation and calls for de-escalation. The situation underscores the fragile peace in the region and the complex challenges facing both Israelis and Palestinians.
Israeli attacks have focused on multiple areas within Gaza. In Gaza City, rescue workers from the Hamas Civil Defense Agency recovered three women and a man from the rubble of a home in the Sabra neighborhood belonging to the al-Banna family. Further north, in Beit Lahia, strikes hit a storage area suspected of housing rocket launch sites, though civilians were also among the victims.
The Bureij refugee camp witnessed the deaths of five members of the Abu Sharar family following an attack on their home in Block 7, with reports describing widespread destruction. Similarly, in Nuseirat, airstrikes impacted densely populated areas, leaving dozens injured, many of whom were children playing outdoors.
In Khan Younis, women mourned at Nasser Hospital for Bayan al-Shawaf and her four children, killed in an attack on a refugee tent in the al-Mawasi area.
