Gaza City – New video evidence and eyewitness accounts reveal the alleged targeting of Palestinian civilians by Israeli snipers, including members of the Doghmosh family, during a two-day period near the Barcelona Garden park in Gaza. The snipers, identified as part of a unit comprised of foreign fighters-including individuals from the United States and Germany-reportedly killed at least eight Palestinians, with six believed to be from the same family.
The findings, reported by Paper Trail Media, center on footage obtained by investigative journalist Thomas Raab, a former member of the unit.Raab claims the ”team” he served with killed 105 peopel during their deployment in gaza, describing the toll as “really impressive.” The footage includes a clip showing the killing of Mohammed Farid, moments before he was fatally shot while walking down a rubble-strewn street. Witnesses, including Farid’s family and cousin jamal, identified him by his distinctive durag.
According to the report, on Moneer al-Rayyes Street, Israeli snipers shot Mohammed and Salem Doghmosh, their father Montasser, and Mohammed Farid. Two cousins were also injured. Two unidentified bodies were found in the same area. The shootings occurred even as civilians were attempting to recover bodies, a practice protected under international law.
“The available evidence points to a war crime,” stated Tom Dannenbaum,a professor of international law at stanford Law School. International law protects unarmed individuals and the collection of bodies.
The Israeli military has not responded to specific questions regarding the Doghmosh family killings or its rules of engagement. A spokesperson stated that Israeli forces operate “in strict accordance with its rules of engagement and international law, taking feasible precautions to mitigate civilian harm.”
Fayza Doghmosh, who witnessed the return of her sons’ bodies, expressed a loss of faith in human justice, stating, “Even if I forgive him, God will not.”
The reporting team included Maria Retter, Daniel Laufer, Frederik Obermaier, and Maria Cristoph of paper Trail Media. Names of survivors and witnesses have been changed due to security concerns.
