Texas Gas Prices Continue to Fall, Now Averaging $2.51 Per Gallon
AUSTIN – Drivers in Texas are seeing continued relief at the pump, as the statewide average for a gallon of regular gasoline dropped to $2.51 on Monday, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). This marks the second consecutive week of price declines.
The current average is down 7 cents from last week’s $2.58 per gallon and represents an 18-cent decrease from prices seen last month. Over the past year, Texas gas prices have fluctuated between a low of $2.51 on December 16, 2024, and a high of $2.86 on June 23,2025. Lower prices offer financial breathing room for commuters and travelers,impacting household budgets and possibly stimulating local economies.
Currently, texas gas prices are considerably lower than the national average, which stood at $3.02 last week – approximately 16.8% less. A year ago, the average price for a gallon of gas in Texas was $2.68, making current prices 6% lower.
