Raisa Andriana‘s Mother Battles Cancer Recurrence Following Immunotherapy
Jakarta, Indonesia – September 30, 2025 – singer Raisa Andriana’s mother is currently undergoing intensive treatment after experiencing a resurgence of cancer and respiratory complications following a promising response to immunotherapy.
According to a post on Instagram by Raisa’s brother, Rinaldi Nurpratama, a recent PET scan on September 11th revealed significant positive results, with many cancer cells no longer active after a course of 11 immunotherapy treatments. However, days later, the mother began experiencing shortness of breath, linked to her pre-existing asthma.
On September 18th, she received her 12th immunotherapy treatment despite the breathing difficulties. Subsequent blood tests indicated a need for hospitalization, and on September 22nd, she was admitted to the hospital’s High Care Unit (HCU).
The condition worsened over the following days, leading doctors to place her on a ventilator on September 24th. A bronchoscopy revealed that the airways were nearly obstructed by active cancer cells. Cryosurgery was immediately performed, and she was transferred to Dharmais Hospital on September 25th, successfully clearing her airways.
Radiotherapy treatment commenced shortly after, and as of today, the mother remains on a ventilator.
Rinaldi Nurpratama highlighted the family’s admiration for thier mother’s unwavering determination. “Behind the suffering and pain of the ventilator, we are shown the power and unusual strength of the mother. Every day the mother is eager to undergo radiotherapy and medical actions to fight the disease,” he wrote.
Raisa and Rinaldi Nurpratama expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support. “In 38 years I lived to see Mother, this is the greatest struggle. Mother Gamau lost, Mother wanted to win. Thank you to all who have prayed for. Sorry for not being able to reply to messages one by one, but all the good prayers and enthusiasm for us and mother,” Rinaldi stated.
