Pragmata’s Gameplay Deepens with New Upgrade Systems, Increased Difficulty
Capcom’s upcoming PS5 shooter, Pragmata, is taking shape with the introduction of robust upgrade systems for its protagonists, Hugh and Diana, alongside a noticeable increase in gameplay difficulty, according to a recent preview. The game, currently slated for a 2026 release, aims to refresh the shooter genre with unique gameplay mechanics.
Players can invest “data cubes” – found throughout levels – to enhance the heroes’ abilities.Upgrades for Diana focus on increasing the damage output of her hacks, while Hugh’s weapon damage can also be improved. Some upgrades will offer defensive benefits, and others will allow hacks to target multiple enemies simultaneously.
During a recent demo playthrough, the advancement team has adjusted the difficulty, making skirmishes more challenging than in previous builds. This adjustment appears to be a direct response to the addition of upgrade systems, creating a more ample gameplay curve.
pragmata distinguishes itself with “familiar gameplay that’s dramatically amplified by its unique gimmicks,” offering a refreshing experience within the shooter landscape. Capcom’s effort is anticipated to be a standout title in a competitive 2026 release schedule.
