Pramono about the alleged adulteration of Food Station: should not be covered up

Jakarta Governor Demands Transparency in Rice Station Scandal

Governor **Pramono Anung** Vows No Cover-Up in Alleged Mixed Rice Practices

Jakarta’s governor has issued a strong directive for complete openness regarding allegations of mixed rice at the Tjipinang Food Station. Pramono Anung emphasized his commitment to ensuring no one is shielded from scrutiny amidst the unfolding situation.

Openness is Key for Food Stability

The governor stated he has conferred with the Minister of Agriculture, **Andi Amran Sulaiman**, to ensure all findings are disclosed publicly and handled according to established regulations. He firmly believes transparency is paramount, especially given the crucial role of the Tjipinang Food Station in maintaining Jakarta’s food price stability, particularly for rice.

“So in principle, coincidentally before I arrived in Jakarta I communicated with the Minister of Agriculture. Whatever was the direction and at the same time the findings, I said I could not be covered up,”

The Tjipinang Jaya Food Station is a vital state-owned enterprise under the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, tasked with ensuring a consistent supply and stable prices of rice in the capital. As of July 2025, rice prices in Jakarta have remained relatively stable, with the Tjipinang station playing a significant role in this equilibrium, as reported by the Jakarta Post (Jakarta Post 2025).

Legal Process to Proceed if Violations Proven

Should any wrongdoing be confirmed, **Pramono Anung** indicated that the matter would be handed over to law enforcement agencies. He reiterated his intention not to interfere with the legal proceedings, allowing officials to conduct their investigations unimpeded.

The governor assured the public that his administration will continue to monitor the performance of the Food Station to keep inflation levels in Jakarta under control, acknowledging their substantial contribution to this objective.
