Polish Rowers strike Bronze at World Championships in Shanghai
Shanghai, China – September 25, 2024 – A determined Polish men’s double four crew secured a bronze medal at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai today, marking the nation’s first podium finish at the event. The victory ends a frustrating start to the championships for the Polish team, who had yet to earn a medal prior to Thursday’s final.
The Polish team of Dominik Czaja, Piotr Płomiński, Jakub Woźniak, and Konrad Domański finished strong, crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 5:51.34. The Italian crew claimed gold, finishing 3.26 seconds ahead of the Polish team, while Great britain took silver.
This bronze medal performance echoes a previous success for the Polish team,mirroring their bronze medal win at the Olympic Games in Paris. Notably, Dominik Czaja is the sole remaining member from that Olympic squad.
